How is doorbyyou cheaper than a local showroom?
We design and build in-house and sell factory-direct, so there's no showroom markup or middleman. A comparable made-to-order door is typically about half a local quote, with the same premium materials.
Is the price I see the final price?
Yes. The price in the configurator includes your size, finish, glass and standard hardware. Free shipping is already included for the contiguous US — there are no surprise add-ons at checkout.
Can I see my door before I buy?
Every design renders live as you configure it, and you can preview it against a photo of your own home. You can also save configurations to revisit before ordering.
Do you offer trade or bulk pricing?
We do — builders, remodelers and multi-unit projects get dedicated pricing. Reach out with your project details and we'll set you up.
Sizing & measuring
How do I measure my rough opening?
Our step-by-step Measuring Guide walks you through width, height and jamb depth in a few minutes. Measure in three spots and use the smallest reading.
What if my opening is a non-standard size?
Every door is made to order, so non-standard sizes are the norm, not an upcharge. Enter your exact dimensions in the configurator and we build to them.
Can I add sidelites or a transom?
Yes — sidelites and transoms are configurable surrounds that price and render live alongside the door so the whole entry stays cohesive.
Shipping & install
How long until my door arrives?
Made-to-order doors typically ship in 3–5 weeks depending on finish and glass. You'll get a build status and tracking once your order is confirmed.
Is shipping really free?
Yes, free freight to the contiguous US. Doors ship fully crated and inspected. Alaska, Hawaii and international destinations are quoted separately.
Do you install, or is it DIY?
Doors ship pre-hung and ready to drop in, so a capable DIYer or any local installer can handle it. We don't provide installation labor directly.
Warranty & returns
What does the warranty cover?
A transferable lifetime warranty on the slab, frame and sealed glass, plus ten years on finish and hardware. See the full Warranty page for details.
What if my door arrives damaged?
Note any freight damage on the delivery receipt and send us photos within 48 hours — we'll expedite a replacement at no cost.
Can I return a custom door?
Because each door is built to your exact specs, custom orders aren't returnable, but anything defective or not-as-ordered is covered. Contact us and we'll make it right.
